At Genesis, Inc., we specifically focus on a small area of the science classroom: Owl pellets, owl pellet kits, and products that are directly related to owl pellets, like rat and pigeon skeletons. We're interested in providing an enjoyable experiment for you to use with your students or your youth group, scout troop, or homeschool family. We welcome inquiries at firstname.lastname@example.org, because we're interested in providing you with all the information you need. Browse our website to place an order.
We offer several skeleton specimens for use in the science classroom. All of our skeletons are real animal bones that have been carefully cleaned and treated. The skeletal bones are joined together in a natural-looking pose, then mounted on a wooden base. They're covered with a removable acrylic cover. Skeletons are useful because, once students have found bones in the owl pellets, they need to see how those bones work together to form the full anatomy of the prey.
Skeleton sets include a rat or a pigeon, or a comparison set which contains the bones from each of five distinct vertebrate classes. The comparison set has a rabbit, pigeon, turtle, frog, and a fish. Since students usually find the remains of more than one vertebrate in their owl pellet, they can use the comparison set to begin to identify the various bones and skulls.
Students can assemble the bones into the rat or other vertebrate, or simply identify them through the use of our i.d. charts. The choice is yours; we just want to provide you with the tools you need for a great experiment. Contact Genesis, Inc. at pellet.com.
